KENT Corporation Celebrates Groundbreaking of Mulberry Health Clinic in Home Community
MUSCATINE, Iowa (July 12, 2023) – A groundbreaking ceremony last month marked the start of construction on a $20 million Mulberry Health Clinic in Muscatine, Iowa, KENT Corporation’s home community. KENT Corporation contributed the lead $4 million matching gift to aid in the project's mission to improve local access to healthcare and be a great place to work.
“A vibrant community requires a quality and local healthcare facility,” said Rich Dwyer, Sr. VP of Corporate Affairs and Enterprise Risk for KENT Corporation. “The new, three-floor, 42,000-square-foot health clinic will increase healthcare accessibility to Muscatine citizens by reducing travel and providing more comprehensive services.”
Mr. Dwyer, who kicked off the groundbreaking ceremony on June 14, serves as Chairman of the Board for the Muscatine Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine, which joined forces with the Muscatine Health Support Fund and UnityPoint Health - Trinity Muscatine to make plans for the Mulberry Health Clinic.
KENT Corporation employees and family among the groups recognized at the groundbreaking ceremony, because of the significant support toward the Mulberry Health Clinic project.
When complete, supporters hope the clinic helps recruit and retain healthcare professionals in Muscatine, while ensuring a safe facility for providers to practice and citizens to receive care for many years to come.
Construction is anticipated to take around eighteen months, and when completed, the facility will replace the current infrastructure that was built in 1975. The footprint expansion will incorporate modern design principles, technological advancements and improved functionality to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the community.
