KENT Honored for Second Consecutive Year as Top Donor to Hometown United Way
MUSCATINE, Iowa (March 7, 2024) – For the second consecutive year, KENT® Corporation has been honored with the ‘Spirit of Giving Award’ by the United Way of Muscatine. The esteemed award was presented to KENT at the United Way of Muscatine’s annual Live United Celebration Luncheon in February.

"This accolade showcases KENT’s commitment to the community and reminds us of the positive impact we can make together, when we unite for a greater cause.”
In 2023, KENT employees again led the way in community engagement, actively participating in a range of United Way programs, including a workplace campaign, school supply drives, and the Day of Caring and Reading Mentors program. Additionally, our unique Take-and-Bake meal initiative, crafted by KENT's in-house kitchen team, continued to be a popular and effective fundraiser for the United Way.
These contributions along with donations from other local businesses and individual givers helped the United Way impact the Muscatine community in the following ways:
- Barriers to education and participation in extracurricular activities were eliminated for 1,140 children ($30,000 value)
- Over 1,200 children received age-appropriate books each month through Imagination Library ($30,000 value)
- Almost 20,000 volunteer hours were logged, for a value of over $550,000
- Nearly $650,000 was invested in community education, housing, and household stabilization programming
